Perhaps moreso than any other person to ever walk the grounds of old McAlister Auditorium, the Clive M. Beck Center, and even Old Morrison, Don Lane is synonymous with Transylvania University, Transylvania Athletics, and Transylvania basketball.

Coach Lane’s imprint upon the university and the thousands of lives he has come into contact to since his arrival to Lexington in 1975 has been enduring and immeasurable over the last several decades.

The winningest, longest-tenured, and most successful men's basketball coach in the history of Transylvania Athletics, Don Lane was inducted into the Transylvania Hall of Fame in 2002 shortly after his retirement from his 26-year post as Transylvania men's basketball head coach following the conclusion of the 2000-2001 season.
